I will always be able to say that I lived in Paris, which is amazing!

I had an amazing time this summer studying Fiction Writing as part of AUP'S Creative Summer Institute. I lived at AGEFO as part of AUP's residence hall options, and it was really great - had everything I needed (sizable dorm room with private bathroom), 24/7 guard and locked doors which made me always me safe, nice kitchen and dining area -- and all for a much better price than I probably would have found from any other living situation. AUP itself was very organized and well-run and offered some good opportunities to explore museums and other galleries, as well as a class schedule that allowed plenty of free time to explore the city and take in all that Paris has to offer (which is a lot!). I absolutely loved Paris and will forever cherish spending a month there this summer. AUP provided the means to have an incredible, immersive, once in a lifetime experience!

I think the Summer Writing Workshop is excellent. I had a great time. The professors are first rate. My peers were very kind and their criticism of my pieces was very constructive. The outings to the Palais de Tokyo and the Giacometti Institute were very enriching. We even had a class at a Café at the 7th were we given feedback while we drank café crême. I will never forget the Poetic Experience. It is a great chance tos grow intellectualy , culturally and personally.

Perfect time spent abroad

This program was kind of the perfect happy medium of time spent abroad. I got to get a good sense of the culture and way of life in Paris as well as having time to explore other countries and places in Europe. My class was challenging, but I learned a lot about the formation of the European Union and its current politics. My research projects gave me the freedom to explore my interests, but also get one-on-one guidance from renowned professors and researchers! This is an experience I recommend to anyone who is interested.
