STEM Research Internship Program (VSRP)

My internship at KAUST has been a great experience, both academically and personally. Working in Professor Rosado’s lab gave me the chance to explore microbial biotechnology using advanced computational tools, while collaborating with people from all over the world. The facilities and resources here make it easy to focus on research, and the multicultural environment creates a unique sense of community. Life on campus is very comfortable, with everything from housing to recreation well organized. My advice to future interns would be to make the most of the opportunities both inside and outside the lab and to explore Saudi Arabia as much as they can.

I spent here 4 months and I would very much like to come again! There is a lot to do outside of working - Arabic or English classes, two beaches, many restaurants to meet up with people, two sport centres with free gyms, pools, and paid classes (Zumba, yoga, HIIT etc.). My after work life has never been this fun and diverse. This is due to the many sports club and the Red Sea with its natural beauty being right there. Through sports and KAUST organized intern events you get to know the other interns and quickly become friends.
