An experience I will never forget

October 30, 2022by: Hector Pimienta JR - United StatesProgram: Live & Teach in South Korea – Paid TEFL Internship

My job was at a hagwon as a guest English teacher. I had learned a lot of valuable teaching skills from two of my coworkers who would later become two of my best friends ever. Even before I arrived in South Korea, they would give me valuable information on how to prepare for the challenges of teaching in South Korea via Kakao. Cost of living is very affordable. Teaching the students has been a fun and rewarding experience. An issue I faced was making friends as there were few people around my age in my neighborhood. I would recommend looking into houses of worship to find new friends. That was how I made new friends by going to a local catholic church. I would highly recommend going to Seoul during the holiday weekend and visiting the DMZ as it will change your life.
