What I enjoyed most about my internship was the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that directly supported women’s cooperatives and promoted legal literacy. I particularly valued working on the creation of accessible legal guides, as this allowed me to apply my research skills in a practical way while also seeing the real impact of the work. The experience pushed me to adapt to new challenges, like working across languages and managing time-sensitive tasks, which strengthened my resilience and problem-solving skills. Professionally, it gave me first-hand insight into how law and criminology intersect with grassroots development and social reform, while personally, it reinforced my motivation to pursue a career focused on justice and equality.

As a university student looking for an internship that would really make an impact, I’m so glad I found Intern Abroad HQ. From the start, their team was so helpful and made everything easy to understand and showed me the right steps to follow which took a lot of stress off my shoulders. The internship gave me the chance to understand how building on skills that I've learnt can be used in real world application. It also helped me grow personally because I got to live in a completely unique location and experience a culture that’s different from my own. I loved being in New Jersey and in Manhattan. In New Jersey I spent a lot of time with the family and the roommates, in Manhattan I was working in an immigration law firm, where I got to see the behind-the-scenes aspects of how law is practiced. I learned how cases are prepared, how to scan the mail, how to organise the petitions. Overall, this internship not only helped me grow in my professional journey but it also enriched my personal life in a memorable way. The relationships I had brought a sense of belonging that made the busy days in Manhattan even more rewarding. It showed me that I could be on another continent and everything will still be okay, that they are good people out there, and you can rely on them. I have a lot of tenderness when I think about this summer.
