Rewarding and Inspiring Conservation Internship Experience

September 05, 2024by: Lauren Moriarty - South AfricaProgram: Conservation with Purpose in South Africa: Igniting Change

I had an incredible experience interning with Nature's Valley Trust (NVT). The hands-on approach to conservation work allowed me to actively contribute to important projects, from estuarine, coastal and marine research activities to assisting with the educational programme. The mentorship I received was invaluable, with the team providing constant support and guidance throughout the internship. I also appreciated the opportunity to work on real-world environmental challenges, making a tangible impact on the local ecosystem while gaining practical skills. The holistic learning environment, combined with a strong sense of community, made my time at NVT both rewarding and inspiring.

View from the Point, one of many hiking trails in the area.Outdoor immersive educational lessons.Peaceful paddles along the Groot River estuary.
